In this page
I will deal with only one of the types of theater - prose theater.
I have pages on my work in music theater - mostly opera, I was told
that my Dracula and the Ballerina in Chains is actually a musical
for opera singers - and movement theater. What I consider as a
fourth type of theater, the circus, I have not worked in.
This page then will focus on my work in prose theater.
I have done a lot of work in the prose
theater first as a composer and than as director. I have not had
much success as a writer of theater plays.
I did not set out
to write prose theater plays. But sometimes what I thought would be
an opera libretto or a radio play developed a life of its own and
demanded to be stage play.
Theater dramaturgs are an entirely
different group of people from opera or ballet dramaturgs and I have
not had the energy to begin meeting them. Now the publisher of my
radio plays
contact me or Mr.Guido
Huller of Drei Masken Verlag is beginning to deal with my
theater plays and I am optimistic that he will find them a home.
You can read here the beginnings of my plays. Please fell free to
contact me or Mr.
Huller if you would like to read them.
And Then She Cursed is a play on a blblical story but with
input on the political situation of today.
Auntie Em's Mediation Market is a
little comedy for three actors in two acts.
Almost all of my work as a composer for prose theater was done with
live music and is more or less lost. Some works were done on tape.

Tears a Backstage Melodrama began as a radio play that was first
done at France Culture. I reworked and deepened the material into an
80 minute radio play which I directed at the KRO in Hilversum,
Holland. Louis Houet, the dramaturg of the station did
the music, and that was fun.
I still thought that the material
had not reached maturity and now the final result is a two act play.
You can read the first act here. True love is an
adult comedy in two acts that begins with Mr. Klein married to Ms Fat
and Mr. Stout married to Ms. Thin . . . hard for me to explain in a few
lines . . . enjoy the first act.
