I
first worked for dance as an accompanist for the Hebrew U.
dance group. I didn't play piano very well so I would often
accompany the classes on bass clarinet or clarinet or sax.
I found that playing a wind instrument with the dancers was
very natural -- that the movement phrases would find flow
through the breathing of the dancers and my breathing as an
instrumentalist. I am sure that this has influenced my
composition for dance.

Radio techniques have found their way into my compositions
for the ballet. The first selection is from
Impressions of Tel Aviv a ballet by Ivan Ducach
Feller. The movement is Dizengoff Street. The voice calling
to the girls is mine.

Many of my operas have dances. Actually almost
all of them, the comic ones at least.
The minuet of the two sister Discordia and
Cacaphonia from the Quest to Polyphonia is one
example.
